This is beyond words.
This is so making it into the next podcast.
Well forget that video, looks like it was taken down. >_<

Hey guys, this time Eva Demers-Brett and I go head-to-head about Final Fantasy XI and other MMORPGs. It’s a funny one, so give us a listen!
In the last podcast I talked about the old Transformers show, and some people wanted proof as to its… awful nature. Behold:
Candid, no less.
All right, so the first podcast of 2008 is finally up! This week I’m flying solo, talking about the quality of anime from today and yesterday, and why rose-coloured sunglasses are bad things.
Enjoy!
The OAS is hitting the road and taking their show to Montreal! On July 26-27, we’re going to be going out-of-province and setting up at the Palais des Congrès for Otakuthon. We were guests last year and the year before when Boxed Rice Productions was around, and now we’re coming back for a third time.
Speaking from personal experience, Otakuthon is a great convention. I went last year when it was up at Concordia and had a heck of a time. Great programming, great people, and above all, a smooth ride — something rare and highly sought-after where conventions are concerned. The Quebecois are a sterling example of Canadian hospitality, and I thank them every year for it.
If you’re going to Otakuthon or just going to be in the Montreal area, come on down and see us! We’re going to be the Masquerade’s opening act, and we’ll have our usual panel: How to Run a Cosplay Group. Come with questions, leave with answers — or at least less questions!
Representing the OAS will be:
…and of course, yours truly. Come check us out!
Hey all, just so you guys know, we do have a Facebook Page for the OAS. Become a fan today!
Also, to those of you wondering why we don’t have a group, it’s because we already have a website. With the features planned, we feel Facebook groups wouldn’t represent us properly, but would distract from the use of this site.
We’re up on YouTube! This is not the original video I had found AT the convention (though I have no idea where that went), but it’s good quality nonetheless. My only gripe is that you can’t see the Elite Beat Agents properly, which kind of minimises the effect. >_< Otherwise, good show guys!
With Anime North at an end, I just want to take a couple of minutes to reflect on the convention. Firstly, the skit contest:
This has been perhaps the most harrowing year at the skit contest. The weeks of work leading up to it were relaxed compared with last year’s trial, but the green room was very nearly a disaster. Set as the first act of the show, we naturally had a fair bit of panicking to do. Nonetheless, rehearsals went well all around and we were ready. Then the worst happened: Our CD didn’t work. We had started, it was our turn to open the show. Adamantios Kuphos, Aesees Bakhshi, and Adrian Javier went out on stage to start our act as the Elite Beat Agents, and what happened? Nothing.

Hey gentlefolk, we’re back! Right before we kick of Anime North, the Ontario Anime Society is back online and better than ever. Before I get into what’s taken us so long though, I’d just like to update everyone on a few items:
We’re participating in the Skit Contest again! It takes place on Friday night of Anime North in the Doubletree Hotel. It’s a lot of fun and it’s free! Boxed Rice Productions was there to help the contest get started back in 2003, and we’ve returned in different forms every year since. This year will be the first formal entry of the OAS as ourselves, since our big hit last year “Time Warp 2.0″ was our last performance as “BRP and EWG”.
Come out and watch us!
Secondly, I’d like to usher in the new look. We’re still working on a few things, and the big List will be coming shortly. We’re just working out a few kinks and that’ll be ready to go. Look forward to it, as the List promises to be the biggest regional network of anime clubs, businesses, and artists available.
Okay, time for me to explain: I decided to re-code a lot of the site in PHP; a wonderful programming language for those who might not know. Being that I didn’t know the language at all before last December, I’ve had awhile to learn it. Four months later and here we are, ready to go! But please don’t get me wrong, I didn’t spend all four months learning PHP, I also had to graduate with my BAA in Illustration, which in itself was time-consuming.
Over the Summer, look forward to a lot of great changes at the OAS. We’re gonna hit our full stride this year and keep on going, count on it!
This is 100% true to real life. My advice? Don’t pause when you’re talking if Dylan is within earshot.
